Champions League champion FC Bayern München defeated Sevilla FC 2-1 with a goal by a Spanish, Javi Martínez, in the 104th minute, and won the UEFA Super Cup in Budapest for the second time after 2013.

The Andalusians took the lead with a penalty by Lucas Ocampos in the 13th minute, Leon Goretzka equalized in the 34th minute.

It was the first European Cup final in the new Puskás Aréna, the date of the next final is already known: in 2023, it will host the Europa League Final.
